Balance is a unique and complex skill that requires the body and brain to integrate information from multiple different systems. Join Sports Chiropractor Dr. Jen Perez and Personal Trainer and Hatha Yoga Teacher Tiffany Bucknam as we explore our:

·Eyes (vision)
·Muscles and joints (strength and proprioception)
·Vestibular system (spatial orientation, motion, and equilibrium)
·Nervous system (the brain, including emotional impact to its function)

We will learn and practice techniques that keep us upright and steady! Dress comfortably and be prepared to move. Class will be done barefoot and will include simple movements such as:

·Standing on one foot
·Tadasana (mountain pose) and Vrksasana (tree pose)
·Plank and side plank
·Walking over varied surfaces
·Squatting

Modifications for all movements are available if there are injuries or issues in the body that require them. People of all ages and fitness levels are invited to attend!

Dr. Jen Perez was a multi-sport athlete competing in softball, volleyball, basketball, and tae kwon do and played softball at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She loves being active and participating in team sports. She obtained her BS in Kinesiology-Sports Medicine with a minor in Spanish and served as the president of the Sports Chiropractic Club while earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Parker University. She also worked as a ball girl for the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball team and worked in Jamaica with Olympic and professional track and field athletes.
Her goal is to combine her education and training with her athletic background to not only treat pain but to prevent future injuries and help athletic individuals attain optimal performance.
